40 Minutes of Skyrim

40 minutes of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Looks like a really good game.

In fact, someone thought this presentation was so good she watched it while in labor.

During the demo Todd Howard showed off the Frost Dragon. This is what started the whole thing, seeing this must have filled Stevi with so much excitement that it sent her into labor," said the new father, Chaz, in a message sent later to Game Informer. He explained that they decided to wait in case she wasn't actually in labor, meaning they "stayed for the rest of the demo because she is a trooper and LOVES Skyrim.

Limbo released for PC

Limbo was released yesterday for Steam for $10, same game as the console version except it runs at 60fps instead of 30fps. Download the demo now you don't have anything to loose besides a hundred megabytes of space.

New StarCraft demo released called: StarCraft II: Starter Edition

From the official Starcraft 2 blog:

We’ve replaced the previously available StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty demo with the recently launched StarCraft II: Starter Edition. StarCraft II: Starter Edition allows anyone to play the following content for free (all you need is a Battle.net account and Internet connection):

The first four missions of the StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty single-player campaign, including Mar Sara 1-3 and the choice to embark on Tychus’s first mission or Dr. Hansen’s first mission.
The first two Challenges: Tactical Command and Covert Ops.
Access to the terran race in Custom Games and Single-Player vs. AI.
Access to the following custom maps (map selection may rotate over time):
Xel’Naga Caverns
Shattered Temple
Discord IV
High Orbit

This is great news for those still on the fence about StarCraft II because now you can get a taste of whats in store for the multiplayer portion of the game.

This is similar to the recently release World of Warcraft Starter Edition which you could play the game as long as you want up until level 20 along with a few other restrictions such as no auction house or mail.

If this trend continues we should expect a Diablo 3: Starter Edition some time after its release.

Could this be the next big thing in video game graphics?

Recently this video was posted by Euclideon claiming to be making a graphics technology that was 100,000 times better then what is currently being used in games today. If what they say is true it could completely revolutionize to world of video games. But if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

John Carmack from Id software said on his twitter:

Re Euclideon, no chance of a game on current gen systems, but maybe several years from now. Production issues will be challenging.

Notch, creator of Minecraft says: it's a scam! He thinks that the demo they show in the video would take up least 512 petabytes of space which is WAY too big for any home computers in the foreseeable future.

Personally I am pretty exited about this but will also be pretty skeptical until I see it being used in a game. We will see just how viable this technology really is when the SDK is released, which should just be "months from now"
